Sarà da divertirsi fra qualche anno, la KTM ha in programma una concorrente della top seller GS BMW. Quando la rivista In Moto ha commissionato questo “SCOOP” virtuale a Daidalgas… abbiamo fatto fatica a crederci. Un 1300cc! Sarà certamente un bel mezzo massiccio, e se il design KTM partorirà qualcosa in linea con la produzione attuale, sarà probabilmente una moto molto bella. Per il momento non ci resta che immaginare, ed ecco dunque l’interpretazione Daidalgas della nuova ammiraglia da asfalto/deserto della casa austriaca. La KTM ha introdotto e continua a promuovere un design spigoloso e molto aggressivo, unito a grafiche fortemente caratterizzate dalla brand identity. Che dire, per qualunque grafico/designer, un progetto integrato così ben definito è come una tesi perfetta. Quindi sviluppare un modello ipotetico in stile KTM è forse un compito più facile di altri, due spigoli qui, un po’ di arancione la’… in realtà non è stato così semplice. Il progetto ha voluto ammorbidire lo stile KTM e unire, in un design più friendly, alcune caratteristiche delle produzioni attuali e concorrenti della GS BMW. Mi riferisco soprattutto al frontale, che ricorda vagamente la Ducati Multistrada nelle forme del serbatoio e la nuovissima Honda Crossrunner per le fiancate “balzanti”. Tecnicamente questa moto sarà caratterizzata dal motore 1300cc (1290 da indiscrezioni più dettagliate) e molto probabilmente si vedrà la trasmissione cardanica per la minor manutenzione che richiede. Per il raffreddamento ci è parso interessante ipotizzare dei radiatori laterali (vedi VTR, VFR e la nuova Supertenerè) mentre per l’uso turistico è sembrato utile equipaggiare la moto con un portapacchi degno di una ammiraglia.

Then develop a hypothetical model KTM style is probably an easier task than others brands production, two edges here, a little ‘orange to’ … in reality was not so simple. The project aimed to soften the KTM style and unite, in a more friendly design, some features of existing products of the BMW GS competitors. I refer particularly to the front, vaguely reminiscent of the Ducati Multistrada and the all-new Honda Crossrunner. Technically, this bike will be characterized by the 1300cc engine and most likely you will see the drive shaft (less maintenance). For cooling, it seemed interesting to hypothesize side radiators (see VTR, VFR and the new Super Tenerè). For the tourist use is it useful to equip the bike with a wide rack.
